Asked about the elimination of white foam in a helmet -?

We wanted an old show use vacation as an element filled with decorative objects on a display table – the old OEM drive high-impact white polystyrene lining inside the plastic hull (maybe an inch thick) – we tried to pick things but the foam is so difficult that only comes in small pieces that are 100 years in order to eliminate all – Someone has any idea about something that could quickly remove the foam easily? I was not sure if there was anything in common or other household chemical clean, etc, which could attack and dissolve Styrofoam? Thanks for any help / ideas on the elimination of this substance, we are perplexed – -

They are installed with padding glue. You can try taking a flathead screwdriver under it and lift it a little at a time.
